B. Mr. KIBOMBWE's campaign message is centred on promoting economic development, improving waste management, supporting local businesses and enhancing urban planning in Lusaka. He has pledged to create seven (7) CBDs in the outer constituencies and develop trading hubs, office spaces and banking centres through Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), to stimulate economic growth and create employment opportunities while reducing traffic congestion in the city centre. Furthermore, he intends to establish neighbourhood recycling kiosks managed by local youths, introduce incentives by paying residents for sorted recyclable waste, and partner with recycling companies to create a self-sustaining waste management economy. Additionally, Mr. KIBOMBWE has proposed introducing designated streets and operating times for street vending in order to improve orderliness while maintaining clear walkways and access to shops. He has also committed to upgrading existing Council Markets with essential amenities to provide traders with a safer and more conducive business environment. Overall, these campaign messages have generally been well received by sections of the electorate, particularly traders, marketers and residents, who continue to experience challenges related to poor sanitation and inadequate public services.
